The brand paints the roads of Mumbai, Delhi & Chennai in its latest awareness campaign
In 2015, 17 Indian lives were lost every hour on the road. And the road accidents rate goes up dramatically when it rains. In order to warn people to use roads more carefully during monsoons, Chevrolet India has launched a “Drive with Care” initiative. The brand aims to spread road safety awareness among motorists through this campaign.
The brand made use of innovative road signs using hydrophobic paint. This paint can be only seen when wet. By using this wet paint and stencils, Chevrolet will paint certain residential spots to promote the campaign and thus educating people to be more careful.
A video with the road signs are also being circulated through YouTube, Facebook and other social media channels. The brand has also created a dedicated page on its site to spread the awareness. In the first leg of the campaign, the cities of Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai have been targeted. It will then move on to the Tier 2 cities.
The brand had also initiated certain other measures to promote safety measures during rains. It set up Monsoon Service Camps that offers quick free check-ups. A study was also conducted to understand the major accident prone areas in the city.
